What is the Gala?
The ARPS Spring Gala is our school’s biggest fundraiser of the year. Parents, community members, and local business owners gather for a fun-filled night to raise money for our school by bidding on both live and silent auction items. This fundraising event includes complimentary champagne, seated dinner, cash bar, music, and dancing.
It’s always a night to remember! This is the one night of the year that the adults in our community come together for an evening of friendship and fun to support of our school, teachers, and students. Don’t miss out! The Gala is a blast!
Why do we have a Gala?
As a public charter school, Aspen Ridge operates on over $2,000 less per student than other public schools because a large portion of our state funding is used to pay for our buildings, utilities, maintenance, insurances, and operating expenses not otherwise covered by the district. This means we must fundraise in order to help cover a significant portion of our educational expenses. Over the years, proceeds from the auction have contributed to teacher classroom discretionary funds, work tables for the art room, technology for the lower school, library shelves, our brand new rock wall, and funds for specials programs such as art, music, and physical education.
When and where is the Gala?
This year’s Gala will be held on Saturday, May 4, from 5:30-10:30pm at the Boulder Country Club. The Silent Auction will begin promptly at 5:30pm with complimentary champagne, followed by a seated dinner, live auction, music, and dancing. This year’s theme is Jockeys and Juleps!

How much are the tickets and what is included?
Tickets are $39.99 per person through March 31st. On April 1st, they increase to $49.99 per person. Get your tickets early to not only save on admission but to secure your spot. Tickets include a glass of champagne upon arrival, seated dinner, a cash bar, and most importantly, a lot of fun!
What should I wear?
As the invitation says, “we invite you to wear cocktail attire.” This may mean different things to different people. While we invite you to dress up, it's certainly not required. This year’s theme is Jockeys and Juleps. We encourage you to embrace the fun by donning your favorite derby hat to complement your outfit.
What kinds of items are up for bid in the auction?
The auction includes a range of items to bid on, like fantastic trips, fun local outings, restaurants for date nights or family dinners, parties, sports tickets, beauty and fitness services, lots of delicious wine, and much, much more! Thanks to our generous donors, we have a wide variety of items and packages to choose from.
Our auction includes items for every budget. From gift cards to local restaurants to family vacations, we aim to offer items and packages at a variety of price ranges. Our goal is to make everyone feel included in this fun night of fundraising.
How does the Gala acquire items for the auction?
We have a team of parent volunteers who contact local and national businesses to request donations. Many of our most exciting donations come from ARPS families and friends who share a little part of themselves through their contributions. We would love to have a donation from every ARPS family. If you haven’t contributed yet, you can find ideas and the donation form here. If you’re stumped or pressed for time, a cash donation is always a great gift that allows us to purchase the missing pieces for our auction packages.
What is the Fund-A-Need appeal?
The Fund-A-Need appeal is a segment of the live auction that involves lively pledging of cash donations to help us fulfill a specific school need. Bidding is done by raising your bidder number at the highest donation level that feels right for your family and budget.
Feeling shy about raising your paddle during the Fund-A-Need appeal? Just contact us beforehand at firstname.lastname@example.org, and we can raise the paddle for you as an anonymous bidder.

Is this tax deductible?
Your contribution may be tax deductible. Please consult with your tax preparer regarding your contribution’s deductibility.
How and when do I pay for the goods & services I purchase?
At the end of the evening, we tally all the items you won plus your Fund-A-Need contribution. You’ll stop by the checkout desk on your way home to pick up your items and pay by cash, check, or credit card.
I can’t attend. Can I still participate?
Absolutely! Contact us beforehand at email@example.com, and we can arrange for a proxy bidder to represent you during the live auction and the Fund-A-Need appeal.
How can I help?
There are several ways to help. You can make a cash donation that we will put toward our greatest needs, whether it’s underwriting the costs of faculty and staff tickets or filling out a donation package. You can also donate an item or service. Or, you can lend a hand in the weeks and days leading up to the Gala as we pull it all together for this terrific night.
